About LRBC

Our Beliefs

Lee Road Baptist Church is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, the South Carolina Baptist Convention, and the Greenville Baptist Association. Our beliefs are consistent with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention. For details about what we believe in regards to salvation and other aspects of faith, please review the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

Mission Statement

We, the body of Christ, promise to continue His work by meeting the physical and spiritual needs of our community and beyond.

How to Join

Our main concern is that everyone experience salvation through the saving power of Jesus Christ.  Here's how to join the Lee Road Baptist Family.

1. Baptism

For persons who have been saved by accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and desire to obey Christ by being scripturally baptized by immersion.

2. Letter from Another Baptist Church

For persons who are saved, have been baptized by immersion after salvation, and are members in good standing of another Baptist Church and will transfer them by letter to Lee Road Baptist (we will handle the transfer of the letter).

3. Statement of Faith

For persons who have been saved and have been baptized by immersion after salvation but are not members of another Baptist Church.

Church History

Lee Road Baptist Church traces its history to November 20, 1960, when a group of men met with an Associational Missionary and local pastors at the home of H.J. Runion. The group of men included H. J. Runion, Lollie Gibson, and Mack Cockran. Laurel Baptist Church, Greenville, decided to sponsor the new church.

The new church began on June 19, 1961 with revival services at the “Rhythm Ranch” and sixty people joined. Lee Road was officially constituted as a church with 105 charter members on October 22, 1961.
Through the years, God has blessed Lee Road Baptist Church. In 1977, Lee Road was cited by the Southern Baptist Convention as one of the fastest growing churches in the convention. Today, Lee Road Baptist Church is a vibrant body of Christ that ministers all over Taylors, South Carolina, and the world.

As Lee Road has moved into the 21st Century, she is aware that the truth of the Scripture never changes, but the methods of reaching people constantly change. Lee Road Baptist Church desires to touch the world through the gospel of Jesus Christ in a format that is culturally relevant to the needs of the 21st century.
